HSU and McMurry Univerity Commencement


I’ll be performing with the KCBQ at the commencement ceremonies at both of these local universities. I’ve been playing at McMU’s ceremony for some time, but playing for the HSU ceremony is a rather new thing. At the HSU ceremony, we’ll be play a number of my brass quintet arrangements.

To Lead the Glorious Charge


This new piece for brass quintet by my MM Theory and Composition student, David McKnight, will be premiered by me and several colleagues at his graduate composition recital.

I Know the Plans I Have for You


The premiere of this work will be by the Hardin-Simmons University Concert Choir, conducted by Dr. Clell Wright. The soloist will be Dr. Lynnette Chambers, and the accompanists will be Dr. Mark Puckett and Lauren Puckett. This piece is dedicated to them for their many years of outstanding service to HSU and the artistic community in Abilene, Texas.

HSU Jazz Band


I’ll be performing section trumpet with this group. I like playing jazz and my colleague, Jeff Cottrell, graciously invited me to participate. This concert will feature Matt Ellis on guitar. He’s teaching adjunct here and getting his MM in Theory and Composition with me at HSU.



This piece for horn quartet was commissioned by Lawson Hager, my dear friend, former Dean, and now our horn instructor, will be performed by the HSU horn studio at the SOM Awards Recital.

Lone Star State Trumpet Guild


I’ll be performing with my colleagues in this group at Odessa College for the Rex Richardson residency.

TMEA 2019 Convention Performances


Forever Rising premiered with the members of the Lone Star State Trumpet Guild and a movement from The Music of Valinor performed with the Key City Brass Quintet. I will be playing trumpet on both performances.

Handel’s Messiah


I sang tenor with the Abilene Chamber Singers in their performance of this piece with members of the Abilene Philharmonic, conducted by David Itkin. It was sponsored by the Abilene Opera Association. This was the 3rd time we have performed this piece.

A Single Candle


This piece will be premiered at the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, Abilene, Texas, as part of their Chamber Music Concert Series.

On Memories Not Forgotten


This performance by Dr. Karla Ordonez and Marc Sanders was the first time I “accompanied” the duet with the electronic part that I had originally intended for the piece. I “played” the computer for this event.

Tolkien Presentation


Presented “From Epic Narrative to Music: Tolkien’s Universe as Inspiration for ‘The First Age of Middle-earth: a Symphony for Band'” at the Worlds made of Heroes: on the 60th anniversary of the publication of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Rings, which took place at the University of Porto, Portugal.

The Shadow Lengthens
