Bernie Scherr is also an active professional trumpet player and performs with the Key City Brass. The Key City Brass is a brass quintet consisting of Abilene area brass teachers, education administrators, and music professors that play a wide variety of music literature for brass. The group has played for numerous churches and schools across the Big Country, especially as part of their work with the Young Audiences program.
